Cosplay

Cosplay (Costume Play) is a popular activity in Japan. Special cosplay events are held and are also part of conventions such a Wonderfest, Comiket, Tokyo Game Show, etc. Anime characters are commonly mimics by cosplayers. Below are some cosplay pictures I have taken along with pictures of the anime figures taken from Amazon.jp. Note: My apologies If I have the name of the character incorrect, I am not an expert in this area.

I am very impressed by these costumes, which I understand is commonly hand made. Who is your favorite character?

  2. Actually, a lot of the materials for the costumes, such as the wigs and the boots, come from 2-3 shops that specialize in cosplay outfits. But, there are “cosplay circles” that get together regularly to socialize and trade tips with each other, so hand-making parts of the costumes is also common.

    Very nice photos, as always.
