Japan in the News: Obama Visits Kamakura
As part of his recent trip to Asia, US President Barack Obama visited the Great Buddha (Daibutsu) in Kamakura, Japan. He was only 6 years old on his last (first) visit.
Below are a few pictures that I took last year.

Looks pretty big, but seems smaller than the Tian Tan Buddha in Hong Kong.
Yes, it is indeed smaller (14 meters) than the Tian Tan Buddha (34 meters) in Hong Kong.
To get there, Obama probably passed within 200m of me!

I doubt it 🙂 I didn’t see him, and I don’t know which route he took to get there.
