Picture of the Day: Mix of New and Old

You will find many examples of new and old mixtures in Japan – always it seems in harmony.  The pictures below were taken last year during the annual Bon Odori festival held at the Zojoji Temple in Tokyo, with the Tokyo Tower looming in the background.

How do you like the contrast between the daytime and the night time?

      • Ah, you’re a quantity style photographer? I did that a lot early in my time in Japan. I have many blurry photos. These days, I steady my hands when I take a picture, and most turn out well.

  1. I’ve taken a very similar picture of that temple with the tower in the background but just as a goof I took a second one from the top of the tower looking back at the temple.

P.S. I’m usually a quantity-type photographer as well. That’s the beauty of digital cameras. Just the same, you do have a very good eye for subject matter. Thanks for posting your work for us to enjoy.
