Hokkaido University is conveniently located just steps from the JR Sapporo station.
The Sapporo Agricultural College was inaugurated in 1876 with Dr. William S. Clark as its Vice President. His motto of “Boy Be Ambitious” is still popular today. Hokkaido University was officially renamed in 1947.
The Main Building of the Faculty of Agriculture was built in 1935.
This is a large and sprawling campus with a lot of trees including poplars on a university street appropriately called Poplar Avenue.
In front of the Main Administration Building was a large elm tree.
This university reminds me of a typical Ivy League college with trees in front of or surrounding the buildings, including the university museum.
The library was under construction.
An interesting building on the campus grounds.
