Music can be heard throughout festival to keep everyone in a cheerful spirit.
There were many floats carrying people playing traditional festival music.
The one of the highlights the festival is the procession of portable shrines, known as mikoshi.
Believed to bestow luck and prosperity on the city’s inhabitants, around 100 local (town) mikoshi paraded through the streets, starting at the Senso-ji Shrine.
