Tsunami Warning

After the recent earthquake in Chile, a tsunami warning has been issued along the entire eastern Japanese coastline today (Sunday, February 28), with waves expected to hit around 2 pm and reach 2-3 meters high.

Tsunami Warning

All morning, TV stations in Tokyo have been broadcasting these warnings, with one station also in English, Chinese, French, German and other languages.  Run for the hills :-).  Here in Tokyo, runners in the Tokyo Marathon don’t seem to be too concerned.

  1. There was a Tsunami alert for here in California but nothing major happened. There was some unusual tidal movements that did some odd things in some of the local harbors though but no damage.
