Japan Olympic Bobsled

The 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver is in full swing, with many medals already awarded.  Canada is doing quite well so far, with 6 golds for a total of 11 medals.  Japan has 1 silver and 2 bronze medals.

The picture below, courtesy of AFP/Getty Images, is the bobsled of the Japanese women’s team.  The shell is covered with a women (a geisha?) in a traditional kimono, as well as cherry blossoms (sakura) as part of the design.  Isn’t it cool?

Due to the time difference, it is difficult to follow the games live in Tokyo.

    • Right you are … Canada has now 8 golds, 6 silvers and 2 bronzes (just won gold in women’s hockey). By the way, these are the first gold medals for Canada as a host country (no gold medals in Montreal and Calgary Olympic games).
