Danny Choo: Tokyo Dancing Stormtrooper
One of the earliest links I posted on Facebook was the Tokyo Dancing Stormtrooper video, as I am a Star Wars fan living in Tokyo.
At that time, I didn’t know that Danny Choo was the Tokyo Dancing Stormtrooper. Who the heck is Danny Choo?
Actually, he is the son of Jimmy Choo, the famous Malaysian shoe designer with stores around the world. Born and raised in London, Danny moved to Japan in 1999. He also some spent time as a shoe designer working for his father but decided to take a completely different path and follow his passion for Japanese culture, learning Japanese after his graduation.
Danny has worked for both Amazon and Microsoft in Tokyo and Seattle before founding his own Internet based company Mirai Inc. in Japan.
He is famous with otakus and has a large following through his very popular Japan portal site at dannychoo.com, which generates 20 million page views and 2 million unique visitors per month.
Recently, he has been featured on CNN and G4TV. You can also read a recent blog post on Star Wars blog. He is very well connected on social networking sites such on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Flickr and LinkedIn.
