Miss International Pageant 2008
Miss International was born in 1960 in Long Beach, California. In 1971, the contest was acquired by the Kokusai Bunka Kyokai (International Cultural Association) in Japan and has been held here since.
In 2004, the contest traveled abroad for the first time, being held in China and again in 2006.
The Miss International Pageant 2008 will take place on November 8 at the Venetian hotel in Macau, televised live by TVB (Hong Kong). Before the event, the contestants traveled to Tokyo, Yokohama and Kyoto. In Kyoto, they stayed in the same hotel, Grand Prince Hotel Kyoto, as we did during our recent visit there (future blog about our visit to Kyoto to be posted soon).
Below are the pictures I was able to take of a few contestants in the hotel, including Miss Canada, 6′-1″ Elena Semikina.
