What’s the food like in Tokyo?

Obviously, all Japanese eat sushi and sashimi everyday, not! Although I love sushi and sashimi, there are other types of Japanese food including staple foods like noodles and rice. Last weekend, I went to Roppongi and ate at a typical local Japanese restaurant.

Although I still don’t know Japanese, the menu had pictures so I just pointed to what I wanted. And just like a local, since I was eating alone, I sat at the counter and ordered the following meal (combo) – it was delicious and filling. It was relatively cheap, about 850 yen or C$7, which includes tips (no tipping in Japan) and tax. A pretty balanced meal I think. Not bad, huh?
