The 19th annual Tokyo Game Show was held in Makuhari Messe Convention Center in Chiba (just outside Tokyo) from September 24-27, 2009. For last year’s coverage, see my blog post here.

Held last weekend this year, the Syukuba festival is held annually in the late summer in Shinagawa, Tokyo. The highlight of this festival is a 600 strong parade of marching bands, cheerleaders, clowns, and locals dressed in Edo-era costumes.

TOKYO (Reuters) – Nintendo Co Ltd’s Wii video game console outsold Sony Corp’s PlayStation 3 by more than 3-to-1 in Japan in July, a game magazine publisher said.
