Yesterday’s blog post was about a Canadian ad which I spied on a subway train. Today, I saw this ad on a subway platform.
This is a very nice picture of the Toronto skyline showing Lake Ontario with the distinctive CN Tower and the Rogers Skydome. It looks like it is sponsored by Air Canada. [...]

Looks like the Canadian Embassy in Japan is holding an international exchange student fair. Visit the web site at http://www.canadanet.or.jp/m/ for more details. Have [...]

Arrived safely in Toronto for a short one week visit during Japan’s Silver Week. It was a long 12 hour flight (yay, for direct flights, boo for economy class) from the very crowded Tokyo Narita to Toronto Pearson Airport, an uneventful and safe flight, watched 4 movies.

Well, we are still living in Japan, after about 1.5 years of a 2 year international assignment with my company, but I can relate to [...]

James Flaherty, Canadian Finance Minister, recently wrote a commentary in the Financial Times titled Boring Canada’s Financial Tips for the World. Certainly, the biggest news today is the global economic and financial meltdown, but Canada seemed to have minimized the impact as a result of its financial system and policies, which Flaherty describes as “boring”. Time for some reflection as I have now worked in Japan for one year. I had posted my initial impressions in this blog earlier this year so it is a good time for an update.
I am now very comfortable wearing a business suit and tie every day, and I do actually feel more professional. Only [...]
