Fake Plastic Food
Fake food samples can be typically found in the windows and display cases of restaurants throughout Japan.
They are usually made out of plastic.
As you can see from the pictures in this blog post, these realistic replicas are quite helpful, especially if you can’t read the menu in Japanese.
With my awesome Japanese (not!), I had to resort to pointing a few times to order my grub, so don’t be shy or too proud.
