Tokyo Fashion
Whether you love it or hate it, I think everyone would agree that Tokyo fashion is very unique – just walk the streets of Shibuya or Harajuku in Tokyo.
Scott Schuman, who is the author of the popular fashion photography blog called The Sartorialist, is visiting Tokyo and has begun to post photographs of Tokyo street fashion in his blog.
His blog post on April 20, 2010 with the picture above it titled “On the Street…..Hot Pink in Tokyo, Japan”. Check it out.

Although I never made it to Tokyo I did notice in the cities I visited that young Japanese, both male and female, were often “styling” in a way that definitely drew your attention.
This is one of the reasons why Japan and Japanese culture is so interesting – how they are able to live in harmony in extreme contrasts. For example:
- Individualistic fashion “styling” and conformist Salaryman/Office Ladies dark business suits
- Modern high tech living and old traditions (ie. festivals)
I am headed to Japan in a couple months. I love the contrast of old/new as was mentioned. I hope to do some of this when I am over there! Have you yourself done some fashion styling?
Thanks for visiting and subscribing to my blog. Nope, i am way too old to do any fashion styling – just wore the typical salaryman suit
Have a good trip to Japan.
