After 3 weeks, I am slowly settling in Tokyo – as much as you can settle in living in a hotel room. In this post, I thought I would share with you my temporary living (6 weeks) until we settle in to our permanent housing in January 2008.
I am currently staying at Royal Park Hotel, costing about C$200/night. There is a subway stop beside it, and several other subway stops 5-10 minutes away (Tokyo has many subway lines). The picture below is the main entrance to the hotel.
One of the most convenient feature is it is only a 5 minute walk from the IBM offices. You can actually see the IBM building from the view from my hotel room (I am on the 11th floor). I know it is hard to see, but there is an IBM logo on top of the second tall building from the right in the picture below. See it?

My hotel room is a little smaller than most typical IBM hotels in North America that I am used to, but it is certainly bigger than what most people think. It has a western style bathroom (with a regular size bath tub). I have a desk (not shown in the picture) and high speed Internet connection (albeit wired, not wireless). Below is a picture of my cozy hotel room, that I call home these days!
